Tutorial...Puffy Fabric Flower

After finally paying the fabric store a visit last weekend, I've been looking for projects for what to do with some of the fabric quarters I got.
So I decided to make a few more fabric flower embellishments!
I found a tutorial at Spare Time Sanity for making a puffy flower clip and used that. You can view it HERE.

This one is actually for practice, since I haven't made this kind before. So I'm using scrap pink fabric.

I designed a flower shape using circles in my design program, printed and cut it out to trace flowers on the fabric.
My flower is approx 1 3/4 inches across diagonally. But that can be altered, depending on how small or big you want your puffy flower to be.
I traced 9 flowers on the fabric, and cut out the fabric flowers.
I folded one of the flowers in half, and in half again according to the tutorial.  Using a needle and thread, bring the thread through the corner created when folding the flower.  Thread through each folded fabric flower at the corner, layering the flowers as you go.  (See tutorial HERE)

My finished puffy fabric flower...
I think I'll use these to make more hair clips for my little girl! They tend to get lost easily so she always needs more!
