The countdown is on to Christmas!!

 Speaking of countdowns, if you didn't grab our recently posted freebie Christmas countdown 8x10 printable (shown above) and freebie cut file, be sure get them --> HERE! 

We have another freebie Christmas gift for you today!!

 The hubby actually takes credit for the creating of this particular design! As a graphic designer himself, he is my assistant. =D

We used our nativity design to create a wooden sign for our Christmas decor (as well as a few more for Christmas gifts), here's how it came out...

 To add the words, I used the Andalusia font in Silhouette Studio and added it to my board under the nativity design. I will be creating another with more of the song lyrics above the design on a taller board.

 Silhouette users: this SVG version prefers the upgraded Designer Edition of Studio. For the Standard Edition users, the JPG format is also there for download to use with your trace function. Get double lines when you try to trace? Be sure to check out Silhouette School's great article on how to turn that off!

We've also got a design shop full of more Christmas cut files as well as digital paper packs...and I debated adding this one to my design shop.

But when it came down to it, I remembered that the nativity is all about the greatest and most priceless FREE gift that's available to all. So I decided that I would offer this one for free to symbolize the free gift of salvation that the baby Jesus came to bring!

Christmas Countdown Free Printable and Free SVG

Happy December!!

Yesterday was the Christmas countdown kick-off, which brings us to today's freebies!!

We have a free 8x10 Christmas countdown printable...

as well as the cut file!

 Here's how our cut file came out...

Use on the inside of the glass from a picture frame or use on a message board to mark off the days with dry erase marker.  Metal signs work great too with magnets as day markers!

 There's also a black and white traceable JPG of the design for those that use the standard edition of Silhouette Studio. Use along with your trace function.
This SVG file needs the upgraded designer edition to open.

The green and red printable works great on the fridge! It's all ready for printing on your home computer. Then attach to your fridge with magnets, and use a magnet to mark the day that you're on!

DIY Christmas Ornament Christmas Gifts

Happy Sunday!

Today we have a quick DIY idea for inexpensive Christmas gifts!

We used these cute little wooden ornaments found at Michael's...

Each ornament was half off, making them less than $1 a piece!!

Next you just need some letter stickers.  Apply your letter sticker!

You can find packs of vinyl letter stickers at your local craft store, or grab our set of filigree letter SVG cut files HERE! 

Paint the ornaments prior to adding letters, or leave them as-is for a rustic look! Inexpensive and not super time consuming, making it my kind of project!! I'm just hoping my sister doesn't see this post before Christmas! ;)

It's been a while since our last post, as our baby girl turned ONE since then and that in itself is a huge event!!

Since I'm a DIYer I just had to create her birthday tutu and matching shirt, as well as her Halloween costume tutu and matching shirt!!  Wow it takes some time to make your own tulle tutu, but definitely worth it. =D

Now that the birthday festivities (and Halloween) are out of the way, it's time to begin focusing on Christmas...with a little upcoming Thanksgiving as well!

Which brings us to today's Christmas freebies!

This SVG format needs the upgraded Designer Edition of Studio in order to open.

Freebie Cutting File & DIY Fall Chalkboard Decor

Happy October!

We have a fun freebie for you today!

 

 Use this freebie cutting file along with your Silhouette to create a cute sign for your Halloween decor, decorate treat bags, or even apply to a glass jar of candy or a candle sitting out at a Halloween party.  The possibilities are endless!

 The freebie cut file comes in SVG, PNG, and JPG file formats.  Note that SVGs not purchased from the Sil. Design Store require the upgraded Designer Edition of Studio to open.  Just in case you don't have the Designer Edition, we're including the JPG format that you can load into your Standard Edition and use the trace function. It's black and white high resolution, which makes for easy tracing. ;)

On another note, we have some Fall porch decorating ideas to share with you!

If you've been following our site for the last several months, this won't be the first you've heard of us mentioning these cute 8x10 chalkboards that already come with an attached twine hanger!

 At less than $2 a piece at your local Walmarket (you know the true name!), you can pick up more than one and stock up for all kinds of projects! I absolutely love these.

Even if you don't have a Silhouette, there's lots of great tutorials on how to do chalk lettering from transfering/tracing a printed out design. Here's a great -->POST on that. 

After applying your vinyl or tracing out a cute design with chalk or a chalk pen, add a cute little ribbon bow and hang! It makes a perfect addition to Fall decor.  If using outside, I recommend 651 vinyl or a chalk pen rather than chalk, and hang under an overhang or somewhere where it won't get rained on.

We used 651 white vinyl on our chalkboard as we are using it on our front porch in our Fall porch decor. We have a nice big overhang so water should not reach it.
